PHIL& 120 – Introduction to Symbolic Logic
(Symbolic Reasoning)
Fall Quarter 2025
Studying symbolic logic can improve performance in other subjects, such as mathematics and science, and on standardized tests such as the SAT and ACT! It can also lead you to become a better reasoner and communicator by helping you to think precisely, express your thoughts clearly, identify good and bad arguments, and structure our own arguments in a more convincing way.
5-Credit Course
Online Asynchronous w/ In-Person (33232)
In-person test dates: Thursday, Nov 13, 3:30-4:30 pm and Tuesday, Dec 9, 3:30-4:30 pm.
(Earlier test dates can be arranged for students with special circumstances.)
Hybrid (33237)
Tuesdays/Thursdays, 12:15-1:20 PM
Fulfills either of two distribution requirements for AA degrees:
- Quantitative Reasoning
- Humanities Area I
- Or it can be taken as an elective
Registration Deadline: Sept 24
